Municipal Police Headquarters in Opole, Poland

As part of the conservation works, carried out by me as a subcontractor, precise laser cleaning of the stone window frames was performed on the façade of the Municipal Police Headquarters in Opole. The sandstone surfaces were heavily affected by atmospheric pollution and urban deposits, typical for buildings located in city centers. A pulsed fiber laser technology with adjustable power and frequency was applied, allowing for the thorough removal of contaminants without altering the stone’s texture. The result of the work was the restoration of the natural color, structure, and clarity of the architectural details while fully preserving the integrity of the historic surface. The laser method ensured completely contact-free and safe cleaning without the use of chemicals or abrasives.
